2024 Theme: Dreams & Dragons

  • The annual Poetry Contest is held each year, with entries collected in March.
  • Cash prizes for both adults and youth sponsored by the Friends of the Maitland Public Library.

Contest entry is now open! Read the contest rules and submit your original poem on our Writing & Poetry page. All entries must be received by 11:59 pm on April 1.

Winners will be announced at the Poetry Coffeehouse & Awards Night. Join us for light refreshments and an evening of poetry. All ages are welcome. The first half will feature our youth poetry winners and honorable mentions; after the break, adult entrants will read their poems and some may include more mature themes.
