Donate Books & Media

The Library will happily accept your donations of books, movies, music, and other library materials in good condition. The Library will add excellent copies of materials if there is a need in the collection. The Friends of the Maitland Public Library sell the remaining items through their bookstore. Proceeds from these sales support the Library’s purchases of materials, databases, and electronics.

For small numbers of items, there is a BLUE drop box in front of the Library. You can bring boxes or bags of books to the Library during operating hours (it’s better if you can leave the boxes behind, but if you need them again, please leave a little time to unpack them). For extremely large donations, please contact the Library in advance to be contacted by a Friends of the Library volunteer who can coordinate with you for pick-up or delivery of the items.

Library staff can provide you with a receipt for tax purposes. Please count your items by type: hardcover, paperback, DVDs, etc.

Financial Support

Financial gifts can also be made by check, payable to the Maitland Public Library, Inc. Donations by cash or by credit card can be made at the Circulation Desk.

Donations to the Maitland Public Library can provide a unique way to commemorate events such as births, weddings, graduations, and retirements. You can also honor a loved one by donating in their memory, celebrating their life by providing books and other materials for patron use.
