What are Literacy Kits?
Early Literacy Kits are designed for pre-readers, and focus on developing literacy skills through sharing concepts like words, rhymes, sounds, songs, and more. Early Literacy Kits were built on the 7 Days, 7 Ways to Read principles.
These kits are available ONLY by placing a HOLD. Only adults can check out Early Literacy Kits. Please read the Early Literacy Kit policy here.

Beach
Contains: Beach baby / Laurie Elmquist and Elly MacKay — Hide and seek Harry at the beach / Kenny Harrison. Beach Early Literacy Kit includes 2 books, 6 ocean animal toys, one sheet of rhymes and stories, bookmark, and brochure.
Bedtime
Contains: If animals kissed goodnight / Ann Whitford Paul — Goodnight moon / Margaret Wise Brown. Bedtime Early Literacy Kit includes 2 books, 1 bunny bedtime game (1 board, 1 die, 6 pieces, instructions), one sheet of rhymes and stories, bookmark, and brochure.
Colors
Contains: My very first book of colors / Eric Carle — My first colors / Sarah Davis. Colors Early Literacy Kit includes 2 books, one puzzle (15 pieces and 1 base), one sheet of rhymes and stories, bookmark, and brochure.
Farm
Contains: Babies on the farm / Ginger Swift — Farmyard Beat / Lindsey Craig — Do cows meow? / Salina Yoon. Farm Early Literacy Kit includes 3 books, barnyard finger puppets (10 pieces), 1 sheet of rhymes and stories, bookmark, and brochure.
Food
Contains: My very first book of food / Eric Carle — The very hungry caterpillar / Eric Carle. Food Early Literacy Kit includes 2 books, plush produce (2 baskets, 9 fruit pieces, 14 vegetable pieces), 1 sheet of rhymes and stories, bookmark, and brochure.

Lakeshore space kit contains 1 soft shuttle; 1 soft earth; 1 soft moon; 2 astronaut figurines; 10 outer space flashcards; 1 instructor and information booklet.
