Every year, the Florida Library Association recognizes organizations and individuals who make a difference in their communities and the library field at large. We're so excited to announce that Maitland Public Library won two awards this year!

First, congratulations to Christina Burgos, our Youth Services Librarian, for winning the Outstanding New Librarian award! With creativity, energy, and bold outreach—from sensory story times to pop-culture parties—she’s transforming youth services and inspiring the next generation.
Secondly, congratulations to the Vote FOR Our Maitland Library Committee for winning the Eileen Brunner Library Champion Award! This passionate volunteer group rallied the community, secured funding for a new library and park, and nearly doubled voter turnout—ensuring a bright future for generations to come.
We want to extend a big "thank you!" to Christina and the members of the Vote FOR Committee for their hard work, and the Florida Library Association for their recognition.
